WARNING: Never inject if the patient complains of intense pain or pressure. This could signify intraneural injection. Be cautious of injection pressure, as high pressure can be due to intraneural placement. LA should inject easily, at pressure that an average person can comfortably generate with one finger. Commercial products are available to ensure safe injection pressures.

WARNING: Always aspirate for blood prior to injecting LA. If an injection fails to produce a resulting bolus on the ultrasound image, stop injecting and reposition. This may signify an intravascular injection.
